HOW TO PAINT FURNITURE

PREPARE

It is always commended to make sure the surface you are painting is completely dry, clean and free from any impurities such as dirt, polish or dust to prevent the paint from achieving a good bonding. Wash the piece thoroughly with an eco-friendly cleaning detergent, then rinse away any soap residues with clean warm water. Allow the surface to dry.


SAND

Sand your furniture for foreign particles so that the paint will have a good surface to grasp onto. 


PRIMER

After your furniture is dry and impurities-free, apply on some primer. This will assist your paint adhere to the furniture superior and it will also cover any stains in the furniture.


SAND AGAIN

This will give your DIY project a much more trained and smooth finish. Be certain in removing the sanding dust.


PAINT

Paint with a semi-gloss finish. The glossier the finish, the easier it will be to clean.
